Hi guys
Tried the search option and not sure if this was already discussed
I am looking for some comments and opinios on the new 10ppm diesel available from Sasol in Gauteng and Mpumalanga, I see it is going for the same price as the old 50ppm
What is your opinions on this and will you use it?
Getting the popcorn so long...

Re: Sasol 10ppm Diesel
If I were driving a Diesel I would head for the pump with the lowest sulphur content every time

Re: Sasol 10ppm Diesel
I filled up with 10ppm, no real difference in performance or consumption.

Re: Sasol 10ppm Diesel
What additives are added to compensate for lack of lubrication due to lower sulphur content? Maybe Sasol can give us an answer?

Re: Sasol 10ppm Diesel
I'm not sure if this lower sulpher diesel makes much of a difference. I know D4D's that have done over 300k on 500ppm with no engine trouble and when he puts in 50 ppm once in a while when there's no 500 he can't feel a difference in power or consumption.

My Lux is standing on 320 000km with 500/50 ppm, 50ppm mostly, no issues with Injectors or anything else, still as it came out of the factory.

Re: Sasol 10ppm Diesel
your biggest advantage with 10ppm is there will be much less soot build-up in your engine oil. its also better for the environment and rubber seals in the fuel system. also the lower sulphur stuff tends to be cleaner than 500ppm. garages are more likely to put paraffin in 500ppm than 50 or 10ppm.
that said my KZTE only use 500ppm, and I just service it more regularly (every 7500km and Caltex delo 400 or delo gold)
