Diff lock on SFA

Post by Suli »

Guys ...

I have the 91 SFA without a diff lock... and on the axel twisters is where I get bollie from my buds in there "other" bakkies...

The rear diff is the sealed type... so how I do get around this small problem, without having to change the diff for one with a lock on it ???

One which helps (if your handbrake is working) is to engage it when you're experiencing the slip. This will effectively break that wheel and thus function like a difflock.

Used the handbrake successfully on JohanM's Lux this weekend. He has a heavy duty setup upfront on his OME and needs a blade removed or a heavy bumper and winch added (or a piece of railway track  ) as his Lux is a bit lazy to flex.

Just fit a locker and trying to ballshait yourself that the handbrake works as a locker. The import axel is a good unit and easy to fit a locker into.

Louis

Lockrites or Auzie lockers are fine in a lux, even with 33's.

In my opinion good Hilux drivers don't need assistance from a diffloc! :D

Why not fit lockers to the pram? The kid can join you on trails.

I have said it to many people before, first learn to drive your vehicle without stuff like lockers and learn to drive proper lines etc, otherwise you will never learn proper driving technique, once you are happy the limitation is the vehicle and not the driver any more then you can fit this stuff, otherwise you will become like some drivers who need lockers and crawler gears etc. to compensate for lack of driving skills

Where I drive you need lockers and cawlers. Come wheeling with me one day and we can see what an expert driver you are.
