Odd Request

Post by WayneSchalk »

I need some help, I have a steel table that we want to use in doors, the thing is we had to cut the legs off as it did not go through the door.

To put the legs back on I was thinking of using a smaller diameter pipe inside the pipe of the leg, that way I can rivet it in the one side so that I can take the legs off to move it in future.

But it seems like I cannot get the size that easily. I need a pipe with an outside diameter of 38mm. I need 4 x 100mm

is there anyone with access to a lathe that can machine it for me?

Wayne, Have you checked the exhaust places, I'm sure they have 38mm pipes...

If you can't find a size that fits inside, how about one that fits over? ;-)

for one that goes over I will need a pipe with an inside diameter of 44mm, any will do, but I think one for inside will be easier to get.

Take a piece of pipe the same size the length that you need. Cut a small piece out through the length and close it a bit in a vice. Perfect fit every time.
