BX-2 charger...

Twee opsies :

GENIET hom :)

Trevor dit is n BAKGAT present daai ! :)

Jy kan dit gebruik as n :
- power supply
- 7A charger
- maintenance/float charger
- om n battery the "cycle" (de-sulphate)

Myne by hom gekry

Connect & Forget!

Hey Eric; what do they go for and would you be able to send to Cape Town? I can't seem to find a BX2 here

Some of you will remember my threads on my home PV installation.

In short:
- 100W PV panel
- Victron solar regulator
- 100Ah deep cycle battery
- various LED lights for the home

This system functioned very good for the last 12 months.

For the last couple of weeks I did note that the Victron would idle the battery at below 13V, instead of the 13,8V.

I removed the fuses and disconnected the pv panel and Victron from the system. Next I used the BX2 to charge and condition the battery. Two days later I re-connected the PV panel and Victron regulator.

System working perfectly again :cooldude: :yahoo:

Idling perfectly at 13,8V :celebrate: :yahoo:

Note to self - remember to use the BX2 more frequently to condition the battery

Just noticed the resting voltage of the battery is now also again at 13,1V.

A good reconditioning seems to do wonders.

I should also add - when I built this system I went all out to buy the best regulator and inverter. By the time I had to buy a battery I deliberately bought the cheapest chinese battery I could find.

This battery did service during the load shedding - powering the tv via an inverter. Taking the charge to 50% for each load shed, thus putting hard cycles into this cheap battery. Since then the battery has powered the lights each and every night for the last year. Granted these are 10 to 25% cycles each night.

VERY happy that I am getting reasonable service out of this cheap battery - but using quality chargers, regulators and inverters. Would be very happy if this battery lasts 2 or 3 years under these continuous cycles.

Seems the BX2 may just help to get the best out of this battery :)
