Ctek 250s dual query

Hi guys.
Quick one who's installed a 250s dual in their vigo. I hooked up one for the first time this evening and can't get it to switch on.

I did have a big learning curve on wiring the spotlights to find out about negative switching etc.

Is there something I'm missing I followed the manual step by step but the unit just is not switching on.

Will appreciate any help

Oh yes
1. alternatur/ main battery positive to input of the charger.
2. Output negative to second battery negative
3. Output positive to positive of second battery.

Am I missing a common ground or something.
Thanks

Jip.you are missing a common ground. I will check the wiring when I am in the shop this morning.there should be a link between negative of main and aux battery. I will just make 100% sure later

peechas please ...

Yip thanks guys was a common ground not connected. Sorted and running now.

I really don't understand why the manual does not indicate this. But the the unit is running sweetly :)

I tapped all the Negatives from the battery, was a bit easier in my installation.

I already had the 25mm wire from a previous installation, for a dc-2-dc installation I wont use more than 6mm

The neg from primary batt is needed to reference the voltage coming in from the alternator, iow the ctek couldn't measure the voltage & therefor did not switch on. It's like putting only the pos lead of your multimeter on the batt & expecting a reading ;-)

Also tied the negatives at the battery with only one going to the Ctek, less mechanical strain on the connectors

Stef, I agree with your comments but I did follow the manual, as this was my first 250s install and thought maybe there was some sort of fancy tech that I did not know of,

Ismail you got it working - and you now KNOW your system.

Should something go wrong in the bush you KNOW where to start scratching .....

Those that place an order and drive out with a complete installation are very much "exposed" should something go wrong in the bush ....

PS - worst case in the bush - place the leads from battery 1 and 2 on the same connection point .... Ctek wont work, but your battery sees the alternator and you can keep the fridge going ... DO note this CAN drain your primary battery over night, thus only an emergency repair, and to switched OFF over night.

Can i connect the cetec 5 amp charger together with the solar panel onto the solar connector of the d250s.

Rather connect the ctek charger directly to a battery. When solars are connected to the 250 dual it will hopefully simultaneously charge the battery.

To make it work.

Negative to main battery.
2nd negative to Aux battery if you don't use PV. If you do a 3rd negative

All This will go onto the Ctek - terminal. Its bad they don't show it on the instructions. But that how its done.

Also remember if the supply voltage(From alternator) is less than 12.8volts it wont kick in, check your voltage on the vehicle if your alternator works correct.
