Hi All
I thought I'd be clever and use a little spray bottle to get rust converter deep into the bodywork seams and stop the corrosion process, however, excess converter has dripped down all over my paint:
The converter I used was Everon and all these converters are very similar (Holtts, SprayOn, Wynns etc.) - they all have the main ingredient of Tannic/Phosphoric acid and an 'Organic Polymer' which is the thicker constituent meant to act as a primer over which you paint. It is this organic polymer that has set on my paint and I cannot get it off!
I have tried Sunlight, Shield Engine Cleaner, Petrol, Benzine, Turpentine, and none of these can dissolve it. I am hesitant to use acetone and thinners as this WILL bugger the paint.
Does anyone have some neat suggestions on how to get rid off this stuff?
Many Thanks

Try turpentine or parafin or petrol.
I took mine off with turpentine
If this do not work get Autosol

Normally meths takes it off if it hasn't been ther too long but it also depends on what solvent base the manufacturer used. Worth a try, but don't use acetone of thinners, it will definitely damage the paint.
