yskas/vrieskas kombinasie
hi
raad asseblief

1ste Keuse - National Luna
2de Keuse - Engel
Goedkoop koop is meestal duur koop!

Perfekte balans !
Eintlik vries mens NIE so baie goed nie .... tensy dit nou n visvang trippie is .... maar vir die gewone toer het mens nie eintlik so baie vries spasie nodig nie.

Re: yskas/vrieskas kombinasie
Moeilike vraag.

Re: yskas/vrieskas kombinasie
National Luna 95 L Double Door Fridge/Freezer & space is just enough for a three week trip.
Meat for two gets packed in packets in freezer with ice & other frozen goodies while the beer, cheese, salads, mix, garlic, butter, cool drinks for the day & cold water get packed into the fridge.
The Fridge/Freezer has it's designated place, whether for a day trip, a week-end or an extended holiday.

ja 2 40lt vat meer spasie as alby gelaai is

Re: yskas/vrieskas kombinasie

My preference is 1 yskas vir day of weekend trips en albei vir langer trips.

Ja, miskien soos julle se 2 vir langer trips en dan het jy een as backup, maar sal dan sonpanele saam dra as jy twee het. Altwee op jou alternator is te rof... M2cw

Re: yskas/vrieskas kombinasie
Yeah, largely a matter of personal choice, but if you really need all that capacity, I would personally opt for two units. As said one could be used for freezing and the other refrigeration. Then on the occasions where you don't need so much space, you run one only. Also two smaller units would cool down faster than one big one and your produce / beers will also be cold quicker.
Only possible draw-back is the power supply.
The Campmaster range is probably the best value for money ... basically have the same guts as the 'elite' brands, just the cabinets are not as good (but definitely not bad). Campmaster are also available from Game so you can get a lot cheaper when on special (could save over R1k per unit by comparison to some other suppliers). I have a 45lit unit and a Coke bottle stands upright, but the longer shaped 2lit bottles like Pepsi do not. It runs for about 2 days on a single 108ah battery without any charging (has a low power cut-off so it doesn't labour and doesn't drain the battery completely). Can run off 220V AC as well and is biased for 220V, i.e. will choose 220V over 12V if 220 is available. I've seen it go from +26° (warm start) down to -17° on "Freezer" which it achieves within an hour. Obviously temperature details will depend on ambient temp and how much stuff you put in, pre-frozen or not, etc.
Gotta say that I'm quite impressed with the unit.

I've also gone the 2 unit route. Just bought a second 40l Engel.
But now the most important question: where and how to install? Has anyone installed 2 x units in a double cab bakkie yet? If so, where did you install them?

Re: yskas/vrieskas kombinasie
That of course becomes another issue ..... limited space, especially on a double cab. I would think that the best option for two units is to have one on either side right up at the tail-gate for ease of access, which leaves a small 'passage' between them to get to the back of the load bin. One might have to invest in a RR to pack the lighter stuff up there.Wegbreek wrote:I've also gone the 2 unit route. Just bought a second 40l Engel.
