Hi, The air con on my Vigo is not as cold as it could be /should be. The air con guy I deal with has vac..ed the system, checked for leaks (all ok) and re-gassed but noticed the compressor only engages for 10 to 16 seconds and then disengages, not staying on long enough to get cold.
He suggested the evaporator fins are very probably dirty and affecting the signal from the thermo switch to the compressor and the evaporator fins be cleaned, from what I can see the evaporator is in the middle of the dash somewhere, is there a solution to remove it without removing the whole dashboard?

I do not have a definite answer but normally the evaporator sits behind a lot of wiring and is contained in an enclosure which is fairly integrated into the dash. So in all probability not. It sits behind the glove box so I would remove it and see if it is possible.
