Hilux SFA – soon to be extinct?

Post by Harold »

Where have they gone?
I have done a seven day trip, Piet Retief, Sabie, Kruger Park, Swaziland, Zululand and home – 2161 km and only saw two SFA Hilux’s. One near Lothair and the other in Swaziland, both obviously hard working vehicles with no glitzy paint work and macho fat takkies; but drab, dented, loaded beyond their maximum but still going strong. Both single cabs - never saw one SFA double cab.

Stuart, AFAIK they're made in KZN by a company called "Mboza" and are still available. There are some previous threads that talk about these bodies, but here is the latest of them ..... viewtopic.php?f=41&t=16205" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My brother-in-law has a 1989 Lux that he bought 11 years ago. He, at that stage, was the agent for "Rust Stop" in Mossel Bay and installed a system in his bakkie. Although the bodywork has quite a few scratches and dents, there is NO rust. I am going to install such a system soon.

Hey Harold
There are lots in Nelspruit. Spend a day or 2 here and you will see them. On my way to work every morning I have noticed quiet a few. And the numbers keep on growing... :thumbup:
