2015 2.5D-4D 4x4 SRX

Post by Cabmaster »

Hello everyone,

New to the forum and first post.

Always wanted to drive a Toyota Hilux and as of last week I am now the proud owner of a brand new 2015 2.5D-4D 4x4 SRX.

I have limited 4x4 experience and knowledge of 4x4's in general.

However, I would like to know what people think of this vehicle and what it's 4x4 capabilities are compared to other Hilux models ?

Welcome Brett.

the drive train is the same as the 3.0 D4D, its just that you have the 2.5D4D. I have the base model 2.5 SRX 4x2 and love it.

Congratulations on your buy!

Great. that's good to know.
I was thinking about getting the 3.0L, but that was quite a bit more on price.

As a first time 4x4'er I think I made the right choice and will upgrade to a 3L when my 2.5 has done the mileage.

Howzit and welcome Brett.I also am driving a 2,5 srx 4x4 which has done about 225 000km and is still running strong.I understand that the latest 2,5 has a lot more kw than the older ones.I know this applies to the fortuner so I am assuming that the srx should be the same.Enjoy the vehicle.

Ja, I was quite surprised with the extras on the SRX (electric windows, central locking, aircon, touch controls on the steering wheel and modern looking dash board).
I used to drive an Isuzu KB250 and my SRX has way more power than that.

I don't need to go faster than 130-140km/h on the main rd.

Will the SRX handle the Atlantis sand dunes?

Welcome Brett and congrats,
Agree with all that's been said, the bottom line is the capability of your vehicle largely depends on the skill of the driver. Go learn the skills and enjoy!!

Welcome Brett, congrats on your hilux! Atlantis got some big dunes, however there are plenty more dunes, turns and sections that u will make mincemeat of. Just deflate to about 0.7 and voet in die hoek. :celebrate:

Welcome Brett and congrats on the new Hilux! I've been looking at a 2.5 SRX as well, but I'm finding it extremely difficult to part ways with the V6.

Most importantly... when playing offroad... if you don't get stuck you aren't trying hard enough! :boss:

Oh no Brett you have made a serious mistake. :o:

Once you've bought a Hilux you will be stuck with it for ever. They don't break and just keep on going. :laugh2: :laugh2:

Enjoy it and like the other guys said. Go for 4x4 training. It gives you a much better understanding, not only of the capabilities of your lux but also the drivetrain etc. which simply means it will last even longer!

The Palms Pub and Grill is op Bottelary weg op die linkerkant, rigting
Stellenbosch van Kruis pad af in Brackenfell. Welgelegen plaas is so +-1,5 - 2km
verby dit op regterkant.

Daar is nie meer plek vir mense wat wil inskryf nie, maar daar is vermaak vir die
kinders en plekke om te "spectate"
