Alternative Route Suggestions

I'm heading off on a 3 week road trip from Cape Town to the Transkei and would like to hear your suggestions for some interesting/scenic routes other than the N2. I have no itinerary or schedule other than to be back in Cape Town by the second week of '08. Hence, time is not a real constraint and I have enough 'kit and caboodle' to be self -sufficient almost anywhere. I look forward to your replies and suggestions.

Adin, sound like a nice trip to do take lots of pics and post when you get back. Drive savely and rememer it is the silly season. Have loads of fun while out there.

Thanks Niel. It's precisely because of all the silliness that goes on at this time of year (especially on our roads) that i'd like to get off the main routes for a safe happy trip.

Extend your trip a bit furher and i will give some very nice routes close to Lesotho.
