Yep - listened to them earlier as well.

Dire Straits have to be one of my favorite bands as well. I own the same album on Vunyl, CD and DVD!

Alphaville very good, and the one I am listening to now is...

Val, Robert Miles - Dreamland is out of this world! I have two copies of this CD, one local (based on the European) pressing which does NOT feature the song "One and One" (Grrrrrr!!) and the imported USA version, which does.

In the same vein is music by Matt Bianco & Shakatak. Great stuff!

Now: listening to Gary Moore - Parisienne Walkways

Hoppy, undoubtedly the very best musical composer that SA has ever produced! He must be in his late 80s now, but he composed brilliant music!!

Fanagalo
Skokiaan
Lente in Switserland
Zambesi
Blouwildebees
Warmpatat
Santie se kopdok

& many, many more, but that is about all that I have.

If it has to be a Carstens, think I will stick with Arno.... he used to play in a group called the Springbok Nude Girls and has gone solo.....
My Dad is a big Nico Carstens fan... so I do remember the music.

I never listened to Afrikaans music until about 5 years ago, i'm sure i would recognise some of the songs if i heard them, i was tortured with Afrikaans music in the army, if you want me in a bad mood, you must play Bles Bridges or the new Pirate Bles, Gerrie Pretorius. DJ Ossewa is the closest i'll come toe Boeremusiek.

We've been going to the KKNK the last 4 years and there is real talent in Afrikaans, but a lot of wannabee's.

After a busy day or I mean an exhausting day, or sometimes when working on some photo's, dolphin and whale sounds..... Good to listen to just before you got to sleep.... quietens the mind....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6wxJJtpqbQ#t=22" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

or this one...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXgqHmRBMOI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE DRIVING OR WHILE USING HEAVY MACHINERY.... :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

find a comfortable chair, relax, close your eyes and chill.....

Dire Straits, Doors, Uria Heep, Jethro Tull, selfs 'n bietjie vroeë David Bowie, Police, PINK FLOYD (het amper al hul albums) Deep purple, ZZ TOP.
Nuter goetters:
pearl Jam (wishlist is GREAT)
Mercury Rev, Nirvana, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (esp Murder Ballads), Merilyn Manson (hou jou lekker wakker op die oop pad) ens ens ens.
Afrikaans....
Dat so 'n simpel mannetjie nou so mooi kan sing!
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.
