Injectors bad or just dirty??
My 2006 Hilux has been tested to have at least two bad injectors, not bad enough to replace, but certainly on the way, as the weather progressively started cooling down, the initial start up in the mornings would be very rough, followed by a lot of white smoke on idle, but then clear up after it warmed up. I thought the injectors had seriously taken a turn for the worse.
But now on my last fill up, for the first time I filled up with 10PPM, everything has returned to normal, no smoking, no rough idle nothing, is this possibly related to the fuel?? Or coudl it just be dirt thats moved out of the injectors??
Another question, I have two mates who add some 2 stroke to their tanks of diesel on filling up, apparently it lubes the motor better and really makes a difference. Does anyonr have any input on this?

Wasting your money adding 2SO.
Its for two stroke petrol engines your engine is four stroke and diesel

People have been hanged for lesser offences !!!
How dare you expose 2SO as snake oil ...
PS - I also stopped using 2SO when I sold my two-stroke bikes.

I also dont see any benefit on adding 2SO, but I also dont think there should be any harm
Still chuffed at the 10PPM making my engine run better

Mike on the old 50cc two stroke bikes the 2SO oil carboned up that exhaust port !!!!
It became routine to remove the exhaust pipe and to remove the carbon ....
Granted this was POST combustion, so it should not damage the injector. But I would hate to think of all that carbon deposits from the outlet manifold onward .....

Toyota sells proper injector cleaner, if that doesn't work, replace the faulty injectors, repaired ones is a waste of money

So I should avoid refurbished injectors

Re: Injectors bad or just dirty??
I would run a good quality injector cleaner! I only use 10PPM, I get better fuel consumption and its the cheapest diesel in Edenvale!

Re: Injectors bad or just dirty??
I use 2so every now and again. I read up alot on the subject and yes you get people with very good results and a lot of people against it. In all my reading i never found anyone saying or proving that it damaged anything. A diesel egt is around 500-600 degrees and burns out all the 2so carbon. IMHO it adds a bit of lubricating properties but it is probarly more a placebo effect.
