Dual Bat & 4x4 Direct
The last few years i have been running the National Luna system in the rear of the Hilux, but the biggest downfall has been with the system is no Solar option.
So between myself, Johan(Legend35) and 4x4 Direct, this is what we came up with: So using National Luna's box (available at 4x4 Direct), Ctek charger and all the other nice goodies from 4x4 Direct, one can build what suites your needs.
We are now playing with the thought of offering the boxes stainless steel front plate to the guys on the forum.
What are your thoughts on the design

Looks lekker
Batteries 4 All does a similar setup for about R6500 with a D250S but without the stainless bit
Just a comment wrt the Brad Harrisons...I'm looking for something smaller than 50A as crimping anything smaller than 10mm2 is a problem, not to mention an overkill if you are using 4mm2 which is what I have 15m of for the solar panel.

the 4x4Direct should at least sponsor some of your fuel so you can TEST the unit in remote places ....mcw wrote:Neil

That looks wicked. I'll definitely be interested Neil. I let ny previous Vigo go with the NL dual batt system for the same reason. Now in the market for a replacement system. Going to have to wing it for the WCYEF camp... hope the 102amp lasts of the 2 days running a 40L Engel! Guess the 60L is out of the question!

Re: Dual Bat & 4x4 Direct
Great! Please confirm - if I already have a national Luna system (looks like the same outer) I just buy the Stainless electrical addition and take the old one without solar option off? Does that mean that I just buy the solar panel and plug it in - the solenoids will switch from bakkie alternator to solar by itself and also prevent over charge from solar panel. Wow that would be amazing.
Also love the fact that the connections comes out at the front/back, my original National Luna box connections come out the side, and when bakkie is loaded, boxes move against the connections, breaking connectors and blowing fuses.
Price please, when will it be available!
