How do I build an electric winch??????????

Hi guys.
I would like to find out if anyone has managed to build a winch from scratch at home?
I really do not have the money to go out and buy one and would like to try and build one using a starter motor and some type of reduction gearing to get the speed of the winch right.
Doe;s anyone have ideas for me?

Probeer Densil,ons weet nie of jy jou hande op van die nodige goed kan le nie.Baie van die toerusting wat ons van die rak af kan koop het hul oorsprong nadat iemand met n IDEE begin worstel het.Dit mag miskien nie finansieel die moeite werd wees nie,maar jy sal moet somme maak en kyk.My filosofie in die lewe is om nie net te droom nie,maar om die drome waar te maak.Who knows??????Maybe....just maybe!!!!!
