KZTE or D4D?
I,ve owned and driven a lot of Hiluxes and Landcruisers, but as my main vehicle, i had a 1980 Hilux 4x4 SFA that was replaced with 1988 SFA and replaced with a 2002 KZTE, i bought a 3.0 d4d last week, but i am reluctant to sel my KZ, must i keep the KZ, fit a d4d motor and sell the d4d??
a few problems;
1. The d4d is to long for my garage, can't close the door, the kz fits and i can walk around it.
2. The d4d feels "heavy" but the power and consumption is much better
3. My kz has no electronics
4. The kz is more capable off road and more stable on dirt roads
5. The Kz is getting older
6. The d4d is newer, but feels more like a car than a bakkie
????

Re: KZTE or D4D?
Keep the KZ - you'll never get paid what it's worth
I was thinking about getting a D4D to replace the KZ a while ago. Drove a D4D for 2 days, but when I got back in my KZ it just felt 'right'. Another plus of the KZ is the scumbags don't steal them as much as the new Hilux

Nothing is impossible - it just costs more

Re: KZTE or D4D?
My totally bias opinion because I drive a IFS is to keep the IFS. I used a Vigo for a week, although the power is much more, it wasn't more comfortable than my 2.7, something one should expect if you look at price difference. It also did not have less road, wind and engine noise (not sure if you can say the same of a KZ)
As you said it feels big and heavy.
Another problem you did not think of is if you fit a D4D engine in your KZ everybody will be drooling over your KZ
Fit the D4D motor in the KZ

Write the Pro's & Cons of each vehicle on a piece of paper...
Choose the winner...
Fuel will go up again, which could also be the deciding factor...
Good luck with your choice and decision...
You should not struggle to sell either when you make your decision...
