Gearlock

Hi guys,
My van was stolen with a gearlock installed, but luckily I got my van back a few hours after it was stolen and I decided to install an extra gearlock on the transfer case as they only put the transfer case in N and then they towed it away! This new gearlock was always in the way and I took it out. Saturday I've heard someones car was stolen out of his driveway and I decided to make a plan for a proper gearlock here are some pictures!

ive never seen these before, a cool ideal, but i could bypass that in less than a minute.
just pull the t-case shifter out of the base with the snap ring on top.

Philip, these are normally fitted to the main shifter and not the X-fer one. They are more of a deterent, and some insurers here specify them as requirements.

I suppose you could. The principle is simple enough. All you would need is a fairly large padlock that allows for complete removal of the shackle when unlocked (not just swivelling to the side ... not enough clearance available to pass the gearlever. One would have to make a bracket that mounts on the tunnel (in your case it seems you've cut most of that away ... so you'd mount to the floor). This bracket should raise and position the lock in such a way that when the main gear lever is in the 'reverse' position, it can be locked there. Should be easy enough for you to do.
