Insurance: 4x4 Bakkie cover

Mornings almal,

Laat ek begin deur te se ek werk nie vir n Versekering maatskappy nie - maar wil net biekie mee deel van n verandering aan my polis tot betrekking 4x4.

My hilux is by Indwe Risk Services (in Tygervallei) verseker, ek was sopas in kennis gestel dat die nuwe "reels" vanaf - 01 June 2009 nou ook "suspension damage caused by uneven roads or uneven surfaces" cover, wat van te vore nie ingesluit was nie.

Dus wou ek net weet of die n norm is by alle versekerings agente? Daam biekie goeie nuus, as enig een die "broker" wil bel - die kontak nommer is aangeheg.

Hoop dus goeie nuus?...

range R215 - R350
does this look about right?

I was thinking hollard insurance, since I drive the lux like once or twice a month only. will it actually work out cheaper if I do go hollard pay as you drive?

well hollard is not an option.
they don't cover cars older than 15 yrs.

Is that "All risks"? ..... R215 looks rather low. Who with?

R215 was outsurance - comprehensive, but I had to fit there anti - hijack device - R1080

Actually not a bad option depending on whether their anti hijack device is a tracker type thing with additional monthly subscriptions. If it's a once off R 1080 I would certainly consider it. you'd save that in the first 8 months.

There are companies that will give you a rebate on your premium that is almost equivalent to your monthly 'Tracker' / 'Netsar' payments if you have either fitted. The catch is that it has to be a vehicle that is regularly sought after by the car thieves. My boet has a Toy x2 and a Honda CRV, both on the Netstar system. His insurers refund him the full monthly netstar subscription for the Toy but absolutely no rebate for the Honda. Their reason? They say that the newer Honda's cannot be stolen because of their standard electronic built-in security system which apparently can't be gyppo'd

My bakkie is on full comprehensive cover - cost R 320,00. Fortunately i had a level 4 immobilizer fitted already as they requested a copy of the VESA certificate.
I use to be with Budget insurance - third party, theft and fire for the same amount.

Also i dont pay any excess on my claims - which is always a bonus..

I think its worth asking for a quote?... cant hurt?

Met daai mooi wiele is dit dalk nie so 'n slegte idee nie. Ek sien daai Hilux word nou mooi groot...

what pains me though is to pay R200 bucks a month for somehting that is going to be driven once or twice a month . rest of the time, parked in garage.... this is why I was hoping hollard would come to the party.

according to Budget Insurance my lux is worth market value R37000, retail value R41900

That's the problem, Dalkill and they'll only pay trade. My insurance is R260 and it's insured for R60k, fully comprehensive with no excess. They actually insure older vehicles for the requested amounts as they realise that trade and market value as reflected in Mead is not accurate. My Merc, for example, is not even reflected in Mead.
